Brazilian Soccer Schools are currently members of the Hong Kong Junior Football League, which runs competitive 6-a-side fixtures for Under 9's & 10's, 7-a-side fixtures for Under 11's & 12's and 11-aside fixtures for Under 13's & 14's. These usually run on Saturday mornings during termtime from September to June.
After the closing cermonies of our 2008 regional tournament We also regularly organise friendly games for other age groups (from as young as 5-6 years old) and run tournaments of our own, including the annual Futebol de Salao Asian regional tournament. The teams that we send to represent BSS in these games are picked from our "Squad Programme". Joining the squad programme allows students to progress from playing in their regular Classes for fun, to being part of a team and playing some competitive games. For the 2008/2009 season we intend to hold open trials for all our students who wish to join our squads and participate in the tournaments for the next season. From these trials we will select around 15-20 children from each age group to represent BSS for the next season. We will try to get these students training together every week so that they can play alongside other squad members in a more competitive environment. 
It is more challenging training, as students will train alongside better players. If you want to be part of our squads you need to be: > regularly available on Saturday mornings during term-time > willing to regulary attend squad training at one of our squad venues (Pok Fu Lam, Sai Kung, King's Park)
For those that don't make the squads initially, just keep training hard. We will regularly re-evaluate our squad members and ask our coaches for new recommendations. |
